Setting: Community Players Board Meeting, April 8. 2010

“The more you know, the more you know….”

Peter Pan, the Musical, was at the top of the agenda at the last meeting.  Director Andrew Sharp presented a revised budget which was approved and accepted.  Michelle Goebel is checking a project which may save us money on the printing of the programs for the production.  The really good news is that the dates for the production this summer will not be in conflict with Churning Dirt or GRACE so, hopefully, this will result in a larger turnout for the musical.  Auditions are set for May 18, 19 and 20th at the Auditorium with rehearsals to be held there until June when the production will move to the Richland Center High School.  The rigging company will be here on July 9, 10, and 11 to train the rigging crew, which will be headed by Ken Nitka, in the operation of the equipment.

Community Players now has a file cabinet in which to store our records and other items but we are still looking for computers/laptops etc.  Please contact us if you can help with this.

The Corey Bobb Scholarship Benefit Variety Show is moving right along.  The show will be held in the Auditorium on April 25 starting at with admission of a free will donation.  We do need baked goods (cookies/bars) donated for a further fundraiser for intermission.  Please contact Glen Dunne or Kathleen Corey-Pittman and let them know that you can help with this.  The more funds we are able to raise, the better scholarship program we can provide.  Hope to see all of you there!

Michelle Goebel represented Community Players at a meeting of various community theater groups in the area and reported that there is a wide variation in the monetary investment in area productions.  She will continue to attend these meetings with the hope to establish better communication among the groups for costume ideas etc.

Please don’t forget to mark your calendars for the June 12th pot luck picnic.

And remember that Board members really appreciate your idea and thoughts on our organization. So please do not hesitate to contact any of the members with your comments and ideas. We particularly look forward to the establishment of a pool of directors for future production.  If you have any thoughts on the best way to address this we would very much appreciate hearing from you!

THE END (for now)
